Did you know? The performance of many plastic and resin products we use daily hides an "invisible code"—whether the right modified material is selected. Terminal phenolic modified silicone oil (IOTA 28723/28724/28725/28729) is just such an "all-round player" that can make resin performance "soar".
First, let’s talk about its "external conditions": it is a transparent oily substance, with colors ranging from colorless to light reddish-brown. It looks clean and bright, and will not bring off-color interference to the products processed subsequently. Looking at its "internal strength": at 25°C, its density is slightly lighter than water, ranging from 0.970 to 0.990 g/cm³, making it easy to control the ratio during mixing; the refractive index is 1.406 to 1.430, which matches the refractive index of many transparent resins, so the finished product will not become turbid after mixing; there are four viscosity levels to choose from, ranging from the "light and smooth type" of 60 mm²/s to the "mild type" of 230 mm²/s, adapting to the needs of different processing technologies. Moreover, it is very "stable"—its volatile content is less than 1%, so it will not "escape secretly" to generate impurities during high-temperature processing; the chromaticity is also very low, especially for the three models 28724, 28725, and 28729, with chromaticity ≤50 Pt-Co, almost colorless, which can maximize the appearance of the finished product.
Its "core skill" comes from the "phenolic group" in the molecular structure. The phenolic group is like a "reinforcer" for the material, with particularly strong reaction ability, and can "cooperate closely" with various resins such as polycarbonate, polyester, and polyurethane—either undergoing copolymerization with the resin to become part of the resin molecule, or mixing with the resin and dispersing evenly in it. No matter which method is used, it can bring "all-round upgrading" to the resin: for example, turning polycarbonate from a "fragile product" into a "shock-resistant expert", significantly improving flexibility and impact resistance; taking the heat resistance of the resin to "a higher level", so that it is not easy to deform or age even when used at relatively high temperatures; it can even enhance the flame retardancy of the resin, making the product safer to use.
In practical applications, its "adaptability" is super strong. If producing polycarbonate products (such as mobile phone casings, spectacle lenses, electrical accessories), adding a little of it can make the products more drop-resistant and high-temperature resistant; if making polyester fabrics or polyurethane foam, modifying with it will improve the durability and stability of the material. In addition to modifying resins, it can also "cross borders": adding a little when preparing lubricating oil can make mechanical parts run more smoothly and reduce wear; when used as a release agent, it can help plastic finished products be easily taken out of the mold, while keeping the surface smooth.
In terms of ease of use, it is also very "user-friendly": the packaging has three specifications of 20KG, 200KG, and 1000KG, suitable for enterprises of different scales; when sealed properly at room temperature, it can be stored for 24 months, so there is no need to worry about deterioration in the short term. For enterprises that want to enhance the competitiveness of their products, this phenolic modified silicone oil, which can take into account multiple properties and adapt to multiple scenarios, is definitely a "good helper" worth trying.
