Let Babies Bite Freely! Food-Grade Silicone Becomes the "Trusted Choice" for Infant Products

"Is the material safe?" "Will it crumble?" "Can it withstand biting?" – These questions always rank among the top concerns for parents when choosing products for their babies. Today, a food-grade liquid silicone rubber, specifically designed for infant care and food-contact scenarios, has become the preferred material for pacifiers, teethers, and other infant products, thanks to its stringent safety certifications and its soft, durable nature. This allows babies to bite safely and parents to rest assured.

The "safety confidence" of this silicone rubber comes from three major international authoritative certifications – passing BfR, FDA, and ROHS standards. It contains no heavy metals, harmful additives, or other substances hazardous to health, eliminating safety risks at the source. The material is pure and transparent, releases no odors during production, and does not leach harmful substances even after prolonged food contact or repeated biting by babies, fully meeting the highest safety requirements for infant products and food-contact materials.

Its user-friendly operation also makes it highly favored by manufacturers. With a two-component 1:1 weight ratio mixing design, workers can simply mix equal weights of Components A and B thoroughly without complex calculations, directly enabling production. This significantly reduces mixing errors and operational difficulties. The mixed material has excellent flowability, smoothly filling every detail of the mold. Whether it's the soft nipple of a pacifier or the textured patterns of a teether, the material ensures precise molding and dimensional accuracy.

Its performance is perfectly tailored to infant product needs. It offers four hardness options from 30 to 60 Shore A, with a gradient design to suit different products:

  • The softest 30 Shore A variant has an elongation rate of up to 650%, stretching to 6.5 times its original length. Its gentle, cloud-like texture is ideal for pacifiers and soothers that come into direct contact with babies' mouths.

  • The firmer 60 Shore A variant offers strong support, resists biting and deformation, and is suitable for teethers, infant utensil handles, and other accessories requiring certain hardness.

Its rapid curing significantly boosts production efficiency. At 130°C, a 2mm-thick product cures in just 90 seconds, while at 150°C, it takes only 45 seconds, making it ideal for mass production. Combined with excellent mold release properties, the cured product detaches quickly from the mold, with a smooth, burr-free surface that requires no additional polishing. This shortens production cycles and reduces defect rates.

Currently, this product is widely used in the infant care sector, not only for pacifiers and teethers but also for soft parts of infant utensils, non-slip pads for stroller safety seats, and more. With its safety, durability, softness, and production efficiency, it has become not only a trusted material for parents but also an excellent choice for infant product manufacturers to enhance product quality and expand production capacity.
