The pace of technological iteration in China's liquid silicone rubber (LSR) industry continues to accelerate. Products such as fluorosilicone rubber, elastomeric silicone gel, and body-contact silicone are seeing continuous performance optimization, further expanding the application boundaries of LSR.
Fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ) is a representative specialty LSR category. While retaining the temperature resistance and insulation properties of conventional silicone rubber, it substantially improves oil and solvent resistance. It can maintain long-term stable performance in environments involving fuels and lubricating oils without swelling or degradation, making it widely suitable for specialized applications such as aerospace and automotive powertrain systems.
Elastomeric silicone gel features ultra-low hardness and excellent cushioning performance. Its soft tactile feel and ability to absorb significant impact energy make it irreplaceable in precision device cushioning and medical protection applications. Body-contact silicone, focusing on biocompatibility, has undergone rigorous safety testing and can directly contact human skin. It is widely used in medical assistive devices, simulation props, and related fields.
Recently published industry standards for specialty LSR have established clear specifications for the core performance indicators of different specialty categories, filling the previous gap in standards for these sub-sectors. The implementation of these standards will help downstream customers more clearly evaluate product performance, reduce selection errors, and promote the large-scale application of specialty LSR across more scenarios.
