Fireproof Fabric Gets an “Invisible Shield”! New Silicone Material Takes Safety Protection to the Next Level

Hits: 830 img

When fire hazards lurk unnoticed, the performance of fireproof materials often determines the strength of the safety barrier. A new silicone material specially developed for high-strength fireproof fabric has recently attracted industry attention for its exceptional protective performance and stable characteristics—becoming the “invisible shield” in fireproof fabric manufacturing.

The core advantage of this material lies in its “combination of toughness and flexibility.” Once cured, it forms a tough white protective layer, like putting armor on the fabric. Test data shows it can withstand a tensile strength of 5.5 MPa—equivalent to 55 kg of pulling force per square centimeter. Even under high temperatures, it resists tearing with a tear strength of 16 kN/m. It effectively cushions against impact, preventing the fabric from rupturing in emergencies.

For manufacturers, ease of application directly affects efficiency. This material has a smart shaping ability—technically known as “thixotropy.” In simple terms, during application via scraping or dipping, it easily conforms to the surface of fiberglass cloth. Once application stops, it sets quickly without dripping, reducing material waste. More importantly, it bonds strongly to fiberglass, preventing delamination or peeling after curing, significantly improving production yield.

As the “core partner” of fireproof fabric, its flame-retardant properties are crucial. The material itself has excellent fire resistance. When combined with fiberglass, it forms a dual-layer protection barrier that maintains structural integrity under high temperatures, buying precious time for evacuation and rescue. Beyond fireproof fabric, it also excels in other coating applications such as industrial pipe protection layers and equipment insulation sleeves—anywhere a wear-resistant, high-temperature-resistant coating is needed.

Usage is simple: it’s a two-part (A/B) system mixed in a 1:1 weight ratio. No special storage is required—it remains usable for 12 months when stored below 23°C. Even after expiration, it can still be used if tested and approved, reducing inventory pressure.

From household fire curtains to industrial fire barriers, this silicone material is enhancing safety across industries—making every layer of protection more reliable and reassuring.
