In fields such as displays and solar cells, the demand for "both high-definition light transmission and safe protection" has long existed. The emergence of Silicone Gel IOTA-5118AB is like a "transparent protective suit" tailored for precision components—it not only allows light to pass unimpeded but also provides comprehensive protection for the components.

Its most striking feature is its "ultra-high light transmission" capability. Before curing, both Components A and B are pure, colorless, and transparent liquids; no turbidity or precipitation occurs after mixing, and it directly turns into a transparent gel after curing, with a light transmittance of over 99%. This is equivalent to having an almost invisible film in between, which does not affect the color reproduction of the display screen at all, nor does it block the path of solar cells absorbing sunlight. Moreover, its refractive index is stably maintained at 1.404, which matches the refractive index of common substrates such as glass and transparent plastics very well. It does not produce "rainbow patterns" or visual deviations due to light refraction, making it particularly suitable for bonding the glass covers and polarizers of displays.

In addition to good light transmission, its "protective ability" is also strong. As an insulating material, its performance is excellent: the volume resistance can reach 10¹⁶Ω·cm, which means that current can hardly pass through a 1cm-thick adhesive layer; the dielectric strength is 23kV/mm, so it will not be broken down even in high-voltage environments. When potting automotive electronics and precision components, it can effectively insulate current and prevent short circuits. At the same time, it has excellent mechanical damping performance, like wrapping the components in a "buffer pad". It can absorb vibrations during car driving and slight collisions in daily use, reducing component wear and tear.

It is also very flexible to operate. Components A and B can be mixed at a ratio of 1:1, no complex conversion is needed, and it can be easily mixed manually or by machine. After mixing, it has a pot life of 1.5 hours at 25℃, which is sufficient for batch preparation and use; if you want to speed up production, putting it in an oven at 150℃ allows it to cure quickly in 30 minutes—the higher the temperature, the faster the curing, which can fully adapt to different production rhythms. More thoughtfully, the hardness can be adjusted according to needs: if a softer sticky gel is desired, mix at 1:1; if a harder one is needed, slightly reduce the amount of Component B (e.g., adjust the ratio to 1.2:1 or 1.5:1), which can meet the needs of different scenarios such as bonding, potting, and damping products.

In terms of packaging, there are two specifications: 15KG small barrels and 180KG large barrels. Components A and B are supplied in matching sets, which can be used for both small-batch trial production and large-scale production. Storage is also convenient—just seal it and store it in an environment at 5-30℃, and it can be preserved for 6 months. For enterprises pursuing high-definition light transmission and reliable protection, this silicone gel is undoubtedly a "treasure material".
