In recent years, with the rapid development of China's electronic information industry and the continuous expansion of application scenarios for various electronic devices, protection requirements for internal core components have been steadily rising. Potting-grade liquid silicone rubber, with its stable comprehensive performance, is becoming one of the most widely used protective materials in the electronics industry.
In the production of power modules, communication base station equipment, smart home controllers, vehicle-mounted electronic units, and similar products, potting-compound-type liquid silicone rubber plays an irreplaceable role. This material employs a two-component low-viscosity formulation, offering excellent flowability in its uncured state. It can naturally flow into the fine gaps between components, completely filling all voids between the circuit board and housing without creating potting dead zones. After heat curing, the material transforms into a highly elastic integrated structure, fully encapsulating all internal electronic components.
This elastic potting structure provides excellent cushioning protection. When electronic equipment experiences external impact, drops, or vibration, the silicone rubber elastomer effectively absorbs and disperses impact forces, preventing physical damage to precision chips, solder joints, and other internal components. At the same time, the complete potting layer fully blocks external contaminants such as moisture, dust, and salt spray, preventing oxidation and corrosion of metal pins and significantly extending the overall service life of electronic equipment.
In terms of electrical performance, this liquid silicone rubber maintains stable high dielectric insulation properties across a wide temperature range from -60°C to 200°C, with no performance fluctuation due to drastic environmental temperature changes—fully adaptable to electronic equipment usage needs across different regions and operating conditions.
Compared to traditional epoxy resin potting materials, the liquid silicone rubber potting layer does not become hard and brittle after long-term use, nor does it cause compressive damage to precision components due to thermal expansion and contraction stresses generated by component operating heat. Currently, this material has achieved large-scale application across multiple fields including consumer electronics, industrial control, and new energy supporting electronics, building reliable protective barriers for the long-term stable operation of various electronic equipment.
